As I'm typing this, the younger boy is working on 11 hours of sleep. While 10 hours of sleep was welcome, this is starting to become disturbing. (Yes. I checked. Every 15 minutes for the last 3 hours.)
Surely, he will wake as I type this rare blog. (He did, not five minutes after I typed that sentence. And stop calling me Shirley.)
So the younger boy is large and healthy and a good sleeper, meaning we have been blessed with two such children, meaning — it must be so — that we will pay for our sins in some other way down the line.
Let's catch up on other stuff.
For the older boy, we left AISD behind and never looked back. Based simply on the progress of his speech and the disappearance of at least half the tantrums, we made the right choice. He still will refuse to speak at times, and still is delayed compared to his peers, but is making remarkable progress.
I have not kept up with charting the NFL season after watching the Cowboys go down in flames. As it turns out, the only one of my NFL predictions that came true was that it would be Dallas to inexplicably choke. I think NFL predictions will not become a Bottlecaps tradition.
I'm damn proud of the Aggies. They turned their season around after Sherman had the guts to go with a different QB and delivered some damn fine games. I would talk trash about them beating the Longhorns, but they're so bad, it'd hardly be satisfying. I'm not terribly excited about the Cotton Bowl, though. A&M is destined to lose. In the years since I graduated, A&M has lost every bowl game it played in except the galleryfurniture.com bowl. It hurt to type that.
Aside from raising two boys, making a mell of a hess out of the house and then cleaning it up again, there's been little action around here. Shannon is going back to work in a couple days, which will make December a pretty tough month, but I'm sure I'll get my feet under me soon enough. If I continue to get 7 hours of sleep a night, it will be hard to complain.
This has been a pretty boring blog, considering I haven't typed much in the last couple months.
How about a picture?
Driving the tractor at the Farm. One of the best things to ever happen to the boy.
